Hey everyone, I'm in the process of setting up a new server and want to make sure I choose the right RAID-compatible server drives. I know RAID helps with data redundancy and performance, but there are so many drive options out there!
What type of drives do you guys recommend for RAID setups? Do you prefer HDDs or SSDs? How do you balance between speed and reliability? Also, any thoughts on brands that have been the most reliable for you? Looking forward to your advice!
If you want speed, go SSD. If you want reliability (and a bit of suffering), go enterprise HDDs. Mixing them is like putting a turbo on a tractor—just pick one. As for brands, stick to Samsung, WD, or Seagate for fewer headaches. And if you're setting up RAID on budget dedicated servers, check out HostNoc—they won’t let your data disappear into the void (hopefully).
